Grinders captures division title 

Grinders Above and Beyond 8U softball team won the Stark County Girls Softball Association division with a 9-1 regular-season record. They finished 12-3 and placed third in tournament play.

The Minerva Lion's Den 7-8 years old baseball team recently won the league tournament, capping off a perfect 11-0 season. The team is coached by Chad Linkous, Nick Tarbet, Justin Wade and Jason Sivy.

Minerva Soccer Foundation to hold sign ups 

The Minerva Soccer Foundation offers competitive teams for boys and girls ages 8-14. The teams are gender specific, so girls will be playing in an all-girls league and boys will be on an all-boys team.

Junior-high football sign ups 

A mandatory camp for anyone interested in playing junior-high football for the Malvern Hornets will be held July 25-28, 5-7 p.m. at the varsity field. Equipment will be handed out on July 30, and the first practice will be held Aug. 1, 5-7 p.m.

Golf outing to benefit Minerva football program 

The second annual Minerva Alumni Football Association's golf outing will be held July 9 at Clearview Golf Club. The 18-hole, four-person scramble will have a shotgun start of noon. The cost is $60 per person and includes lunch, dinner, snacks and cold beer.
