There were two things I wanted to do in life and succeed doing them. The first was to be a truck driver. The second was to be a cleaning lady. Neither one of those worked out. I couldn't be a truck driver because I can't climb up into a truck.

In February 1943, General MacArthur requested General Walter Krueger to be placed in command of the newly formed United States Sixth Army, which was to be sent into action in the Southwest Pacific. General Krueger was born in Prussia and came to the United States when eight years old.
Rarely do I write about Lake Mohawk issues in a letter-to-the-editor section. However, I do copy the lake on many of my letters that go in the local papers, but the board has to approve what I write and so far none of my letters have been printed in our Mohawk newsletter.

On Jan. 20th, people in America and around the world witnessed the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States. I can celebrate this as one more peaceful transition of political power, a transition that in many countries follows coups, revolutions and tainted elections.
