Tucci, Martin share MVP award

The best season in school history was celebrated when the girls basketball program was honored recently at the Malvern Winter Sports Banquet. The Lady Hornets set a school record with 21 wins, finished second in the Inter-Valley Conference, and reached the district finals.

Jaret Majestic, Mark Mayle, Drew Hutchison, Jake Moser and Brandon Patterson received special awards during the boys basketball portion of the Malvern Winter Sports Banquet. Majestic received the Offensive Player of the Year Award.

Gastin is Malvern's Most Outstanding Wrestler

Three wrestlers received special awards at the Malvern Winter Sports Banquet. The Most Outstanding Wrestler Award went to Josh Gastin. The senior earned his fourth varsity letter, finished second at the Inter-Valley Conference Championships and sectionals.

Four Minerva boys basketball players received the prestigious Northeastern Buckeye Conference Scholar Athlete Award during the season-ending banquet. Lettering, while maintaining a 3.4 or higher grade point average are Adam Gross, Jack Hanley, Blaine Neikirk and Reid Miller.

Div. II MV Bowler is Minerva's Megan Keister

The Minerva girls bowling program, the fifth best team in Division II, was honored recently at its season-ending banquet. The Lady Lions won sectional and district championships, and qualified to the state championships, where they placed fifth.

Lady Lions smack five home runs

Amber Hume and Elyssa Imler both went deep in powering Minerva past Claymont in a season-opening softball game. Hume connected for a two-run homer in the first inning. She finished with four hits and three RBIs.
