Pickleball courts installed at Minerva Bicentennial Park

Pickleball Courts have been painted onto the tennis courts at the Bicentennial Park in Minerva. Anyone wishing to play outdoor pickleball should contact Doug Hosterman at 330-323-8950. A loaner net is available at Off The Beaten Path Gift Shop, 10 am. until 8 p.m.

Markins records three firsts

1rkins won three events during Minerva's 61-53 loss to Salem. Markins recorded firsts in the 100, 400 and long jump. Also winning were Liam Billiter in the 110 hurdles and 200 hurdles, and J.J. Johns in the high jump.

Donkey Basketball returns to Minerva

Donkey Basketball makes a return appearance at Minerva High School this Friday, April 28, 7 p.m. This year's contests will be seniors vs. staff and police vs. firefighters. Tickets are $6 and are available at all school offices. Tickets are $8 at the door.

Malvern track teams are second at quadrangular

Malvern had a strong showing during a quadrangular at Newcomerstown, finishing second with 86 points. Newcomerstown won the day with 112 points. Tusky Central was third with 39, and Heritage Christian was fourth with 5. Brandon Patterson placed first in all four events he entered.

MinervaStrong Memorial 5K set for May 5

The third annual MinervaStrong Memorial 5K will be held Friday, May 5, at Robert H. Hines Stadium with registration beginning at 5 p.m. The free 400 meter kids run will take place at 6 p.m., the one-mile walk will begin at 6:15 p.m., and the 5K starts at 7 p.m.

Golf outing to benefit girls softball

The fifth annual Minerva Girls Youth Softball Golf Outing will be held Saturday, April 29, at Edgewater Golf Course. The 4-person scramble will have a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The cost is $200 per team and this includes 18 holes of golf, cart, hot dog at the turn, and dinner.

Sara Loomis recently completed her freshman season as a member of the Ashland University women's basketball team. The Eagles completed a perfect 37-0 season, winning the NCAA Division II National Championship. The Elite Eight was held in Columbus on the campus of Ohio Dominican.
