The Malvern Historical Society was founded in 1994 by me, Frances Thomas Montella, and Jason L. Lombardi. Linda Byrd as treasurer and Sonia Strock as secretary have kept the society open for quite a few years and have done an excellent job.

2006Minerva High School seniors Andrew Reed and Holly Murphy were presented with vocal music awards at the Spring Choir Concert. Reed received the Denny Price Award, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, for a male vocal music student who demonstrates excellence.

On the day after Christmas 1991, the Cold War against communism ended when the Soviet Union dissolved and its military disintegrated. For 50 years the U.S. Armed Forces had faced the Soviet threat usually through proxy enemies such as North Korea and the North Vietnamese.

I don't know what the "woman card" is. I know what a Giant Eagle card is. I know how to use my Drug Mart card. And I love my Direct Express Social Security card.But I've never applied for nor been approached to get a woman's card.

2006Students raised money during a mini-relay. West Elementary students learned the many names of cancer as they walked by a display of their teachers' families and friends who have died from the disease. The students raised approximately $3,000 during their mini-relay.

2006 Residents of the Robertsville area said goodbye to their school recently as the former Robertsville School was demolished to make way for the new Robertsville Fire Station. Once its own school district, Robertsville would later join Minerva Local Schools and become an elementary school.

2006The Minerva Cheese factory welcomed a 14-foot-tall, 19.5-foot-long, six-foot-wide cow to its family Thursday, May 25. The fiberglass cow traveled to Minerva from Radloff's Cheese in Hustiford, Wis.

I was at the bank today. That's very unusual for me. To be in a bank. The reason it's unusual for me to be in a bank is because I have no money in a bank. Actually, I have no bank accounts to put money in. You may say that's impossible. I may say not only is it possible but it's necessary.
