John F. Hudson, 81, of Malvern, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2017, in Aultman Hospital surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 1, 1936, in Kokomo, Ind. to Lloyd and Edna (Ebert) Hudson. He retired from Colfor in 2011. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp witnessing the A-Bomb test in 1957 at Camp Desert Rock, Nev. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern where he was a 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus, member of the Men's Club and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores (DeMarinis) Hudson, whom he married Oct. 5, 1963; five sons, John (Megan) Hudson of Stow, Frank Hudson of Malvern, Patrick (Carol) Hudson of Minerva, Philip (Dawn) Hudson of Kansas City, Mo. and Mark (Bethany) Hudson of Suffield; two brothers, James (Marcia) Hudson of Kokomo, Ind., and Robert (Patricia) Hudson of Kokomi, Ind.; sister-in-law, Beverly Lampers of Tallmadge; brother-in-law, Joseph (Beverly) DeMarinis of Malvern; nine grandchildren, John, Michelle, Caleb, Kyle, Chase, Britny, Mia, Daniel and Andrew; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Christian Burial was held June 3 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern, with Fr. Victor Cinson and Fr. Philip Racco as celebrant. Burial with full military honors was in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Francis Church Hall Building Fund.
