Carroll County Eastern Star meets

Carroll Chapter Order of the Eastern Star met on June 2 with 19 members present. Worthy Matron Brenda Sperber gave a Father's Day greeting to all the fathers.

Guests greeted were Deputy Grand Matron Millie Romans, Honored Masons Fred Boggs, Wayne Sperber, David Rainsberger, and Dwight Williams, 50-year members Donna Tucker, Margaret Gotschall, Mary Anna Cotter, and Glenda Carter (also District 13 Vice President), and Grand Aide Ron Romans.

The Charter was draped in memory of Evelyn Kinsey, who passed recently. Worthy Matron thanked all who worked the hot dog stand, the First Responders Dinner, and the Memorial Day Parade. Annual reports were given by the trustee, audit, and budget committees.

Election of 2017 officers resulted in the following: Worthy Matron Brenda Sperber, Worthy Patron Joe Phillis, Associate Matron Carol Boggs, Associate Patron Dwight Williams, Secretary Glenda Carter, Treasurer David Rainsberger, Conductress Shirley Thorn, Associate Conductress Millie Romans, Trustees Wayne Sperber and Wendy Rainsberger, and Temple Board Carol Boggs and Brenda Sperber.

Those needing sunshine were Cheryl Gotschall, Tina Phillips, Pat Fry, Shirley Thorn, and Deb Wells.

It was reported that a new table and floor have been placed in the kitchen and a toilet in the upstairs restroom.

At the Sept. 1 meeting the 25- and 50-year members will receive their pins. Several members planned to attend the Charities Extravaganza, June 4, and the OES Home Open House, June 26. A party in honor of Nancy McMillin, state president, will be July 6, 7 p.m., at East Palestine.
