Sara Loomis recently completed her freshman season as a member of the Ashland University women's basketball team.
The Eagles completed a perfect 37-0 season, winning the NCAA Division II National Championship.
The Elite Eight was held in Columbus on the campus of Ohio Dominican. Ashland won its quarterfinals contest over West Texas A&M 82-67. In the semifinals, the Eagles beat Harding 90-77.
In the NCAA Division II National Championship Game, Ashland downed Virginia Union 93-77.
Loomis played about 12 minutes per game this season. She averaged 5.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. She shot 52.9 percent from the field, 50 percent from behind the 3-point line, and 76.5 from the free-throw line.
