Safe Kids Carroll County Back to School Event set for Saturday

The first day of school is right around the corner. Safe Kids Carroll County wants to kick off the school year right by inviting you to the annual Back to School Safety & Wellness Extravaganza on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Carroll County Fairgrounds just north of Carrollton on Rt. 9 (Kensington Road).

Free school supplies and a healthy weekend lunch will be provided to Carroll County school age through fifth grade students. Children must be present in order to receive school supplies. Come and participate in a variety of interactive safety and wellness stations providing education on safety in the home, in vehicles, in the sun, in the water, playing sports, on a bike, nutrition and physical activity information and much more. Free haircuts, raffles and giveaways will also be provided during the event.

The Carroll County Early Childhood Coordinating Committee will also be sponsoring free preschool screenings that include hearing, vision, dental, and medical screenings. Please bring your child's shot record. The Carroll County General Health District Nursing Division will be checking immunization records to make sure the child is up to date.

The Back to School Safety & Wellness Extravaganza is hosted by Safe Kids Carroll County. Safe Kids Carroll County is led by the Carroll County General Health District.
