Several improvements to the fairgrounds, buildings and other changes will be at the 2017 Carroll County Fair.
"This year there is going to be just one fee of $10 to get in and that includes rides," said Wes Frew, Jr. Fair secretary.
A handicap stall has been added to the men and women restrooms near the grandstands as well as a fresh coat of paint on walls and floor. A new roof was put on the restrooms and the building was painted on outside too.
The Exhibit Hall got a brand new roof and new coat of paint. A fountain will be inside the exhibit hall.
Frew stated that there has been a lot of work done landscaping along the fence by the road. There is a new flower bed outside Rosebud building and a new one outside of restroom building.
"The old track lights were removed," said Frew. "The poles were in very bad shape. Electrical upgrades were made to the fairgrounds." He noted the old poles were put in around 1969 or earlier.
Frew announced that the Ashton Foundation provided new metal bleachers to replace the old wooden ones at the north end of metal barn at the show arena. The old wooden bleachers were approximately 50 years old.
The Ashton Foundation also pledged money to new security camera system.
Frew added that they replaced some waterlines to improve the concession stands.
